Glycolic Acid Toner
Did you know that there's more to a glycolic acid toner than you probably know? Learn what
you need to know before you go out spending money...Keep reading to discover what you can
expect!
A glycolic acid toner is a solution comprised of glycolic acid (obviously) in addition to
some other ingredients, such as herbs and things.
While it can be used on anyone, the best type of skin to have for any acid treatment is
going to always be the fairer the skin the better. Obviously, gender plays no role in whether the treatment is
successful or not.
Probably the two most common uses (although there are, of course, others) are use as an
anti-age treatment...It basically increases the elasticity of the skin, making it healthier looking and tighter.
The other common usage is going to have to be as an acne fighter.
It's such a powerful exfoliant that pimples just don't stand a chance. You will commonly
hear that glycolic and lactic acids are both part of the AHAs, or in other word the Alpha Hydroxy Acids, and
they're most commonly derived from various fruits and vegetables.
Glycolic acid in particular is most commonly found and derived from sugar cane, although
it CAN be found in other natural substances. Once derived, the acid is sloshed together with various other natural
fruit and herb extracts and concentrates.
It's not uncommon at all for aloe vera to also be used as a moisturizing agent in
glycolic acid toner.
Basically the way the acid toner works is that the glycolic acid exfoliates the skin...In
other words it seeps into all of your tiny little pores, sucks out all the dirt, all the oils, all the gunk, and
cleans them out. In addition it commonly removes sun spots and small wrinkles and other skin blemishes. Pimples
can't do much once you've taken everything out of your pores...Without something to clog them up you'll soon find
yourself almost completely pimple free.
The majority of glycolic acid toners run around a 10% concentration...Too much more than
that, used frequently, could easily destroy your skin...High concentrations of glycolic acid are even used to
remove rust from metal!
One nice thing about these is that they actually have no alcohol in them...This means that
you won't get those drying and irritating effects from alcohol being rubbed on your skin.
You should probably expect to pay something around $20 - $30 for a good quality bottle of
glycolic acid toner. Much less then that and you're probably getting worse ingredients, and it won't be worth
doing. Just be conscious of what exactly is in what you're buying.
I know that it won't be long after using a glycolic acid toner that you'll be toting
around a beautiful and vibrant face...Completely rejuvenated and full of life!
Well that about sums up my guide about glycolic acid toner...I hope that you've found it
pretty helpful, I really do wish you the best in your pursuit for perfect skin!
